News and events
Publishing details of college news and forthcoming events is an effective way to communicate to prospective students and to keep your website looking fresh and up-to-date.
College-in-a-box allows you easily to publish news and events stories via the included content management system. Each story is displayed as a 'teaser' showing the headline and a short summary, which links to a main page containing the full story, and any images and attachments.
Software Update — College-in-a-box now includes RSS feeds!
RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication' and is a popular way for people to keep abreast of the latest content added to a website without having to visit the site each day. You can see it in action on news websites like the BBC and The Guardian.
With College-in-a-box, people can now choose to subscribe to updates on college news and events simply by clicking the RSS feed icon shown beside all stories. As soon as you publish a new story on your website, it will now automatically be delivered to subscribers' RSS news readers. They will receive the headline, a summary, and a hyperlink to read the full story on your website.
